Kyralyn had a special birthday gift this year:

a business trip to California with Dad - 

he'll work, she'll stay & play with Maloree!

At 10:30 the night before she left, she was still awake.

So excited!

5am came early, but she didn't notice.

 

Of course there was time for nails!

 

and swimming

 

a quick nap

 

reading time

and two days later she slept,

just in time for Dad to pick her up for the flight home.

July 4, 2013

One of the other things on her 7th birthday bucket list 

We're thankful for the kindness of friends who would share the morning with her. 

It wasn't quite as easy as when she'd left off last year. 

She loved it and was able to be trotting after a few minutes

 

 

Parker had fun on his ride too.

 This was a friend birthday party year

(these are the family gifts the morning of the 4th)

 so on the 3rd she went swimming with several friends,
old and new

 made bracelets and their own pizzas

 played with the bubbles

 played a guessing game

 and unwrapped presents

We had a 4th of July / Birthday BBQ with homemade rootbeer, cousins, smiles and fireworks.

June 2013

Time to catch up on a bit of family journaling.

(Its been too long to remember many of the details but I'll give the pictures a try!)

June was a fun time:  school was out (1st, 5th, & 7th), we were in our new home, the sun was shining, and did I mention school was out?

We went to visit Grandpa & Grandma Locher's gravesite.  This year we didn't make it on Memorial Day so we came a few days later.  We love & miss you both!

While we were unpacking we found many once-treasured books for Kyralyn to discover.

What kind of tree is this?

I'd like to plant one.

Dallin stocked up for basketball tournaments

Kyralyn loves to have long play-dates with Livi

I made bread for the first time in probably 5 years.

Just like riding a bike.

Parker discovered a new medium & tool for his art.

A new favorite racing ride, Avalanche.

 Kyralyn & I began our girls' week with a long bike ride on the trails

she spent a lot of her time dancing

(a favorite song this summer is "Call Me Maybe")

 every girls' week needs a salon and watermelon

 and of course cleaning up

 and a little bit of sleep.

we washed the car but Parker can't stand the smell -
of the carwash, not the dirty van! 

 we love to get our country music on in summertime

Especially when Nana & Papa's birthday outfit arrived.
