summer happenings

We've been busy enjoying the long and lazy days of summer:

weeding, cleaning house (at least a little bit), playing, swimming lessons, reading (maybe not enough), watching TV (Lie To Me, the Glades & Master of Disguise), playing together, playing GoldenEye on the Wii, laundry, playing, planning the next outing, painting, mowing and playing some more.

On Friday the 20th Kyralyn, Parker & I went with Rachel, Cassie & Tylan to this musical.  It is a romantic comedy based on the music of Elvis.

 Parker & Tylan managed to miss half of it as they were running around on the hills.  The music was fun to listen to.  Great talent can be found in community theatre!

 After a day at seven peaks Salt Lake on Saturday, dinner with the Freemans on Sunday & a hike to Ensign Peak on Monday we were back at the Scera Theatre for some country music on Pioneer Day.

 We were there to see Rodney Atkins.  He's there on the stage somewhere.  The boys got to meet him before the concert.  What a deep voice he has.

 Dallin & Parker were the only kids in our Spencer Family party that were there.  They know how to appreciate good music!  (Kyralyn would have been too but she was invited to a friend's house for a "late-night" girl party.)

Paul, the boys & I had fun together singing along with several of his songs that we like:  Going Through Hell, Watching You, He's Mine, Cleaning This Gun & Take A Back Road just to name a few.

 The next day the kids & I were at Seven Peaks Provo with Rachel, Cassie & Tylan.  Kyralyn loved Skybreaker (that narrow blue one way at the back behind the yellow one), Dallin loved Cave In and Shotgun Falls (the tube and the pink one hidden behind the trees) and Parker loved Skybreaker, Jagged Edge, Shotgun Falls & Boomerang (the narrow blue and yellow ones, the hidden pink one and a white one that's not in the picture).  Water is a great way to beat the heat!  We left just as the slides and pool were closing for a small summer storm to pass by.  It poured on us the whole way home.

We caught the Jr High schedule while it was posted, football tryouts are over, practices begin this week, music lessons need to get rescheduled now that all the broken bones are healed, elementary school class lists will be posted soon, junior high fees & notes were found in the mail yesterday, school clothes shopping needs to be done (Dallin needs a size 13 shoe and bigger clothes for his 5'10" body, Parker needs some shorts and Kyralyn heard "clothes shopping" and is rearing to go), and the lazy days of summer are quickly dwindling.
