it even snows in the winter

One Monday late afternoon several weeks ago, I was getting ready to wrap up into the evening.

When Paul is out of town this means that come dinnertime, the kids eat a quick meal, help clean up, shower, get ready for bed, maybe watch a show on Netflix and then get in bed to read.  (If only.....)

This particular evening I was prepared to add in a brief scriptural Family Home Evening.

But the falling rain turned to snow.

And it was sticking!

1/23/12
Our evening plans were abandoned as the kids loaded up in layers to play.

The boys took a football to the trampoline (in socks).

A short time later Kyralyn joined in.

Eventually the kids all ended up in the front yards with several neighborhood friends, shovels & gloves full of snowballs.

They played that way for a long time.

Parker was the first in.

Then came Dallin.

And long after dark, Kyralyn.

That day, we were reminded that it even snows in the winter.

A snow covered trampoline is the best place for a football challenge!
Awesome for wrestling, too!

Of course a hat is a great place to store a snowball!
Don't even feel it!
And then it can come out at the perfect time!
But then a new hat is needed.
